I found a new-to-me quilting blog and have just LOVED visiting there! Cottons n Wool is full of gorgeous quilts and stitchery. I love her style and tastes and I fell in love with one of her latest quilts, "Folk Art Blooms" It goes along with the new "look" I am desiring to give my new kitchen/eating area. I ordered the book this morning.
You can see Anne's top here. I plan to do a 4 block wallhanging version for the small wall in my eating area, but someday would love to make the entire thing.
So how will I spend my Sew Day? I am headed to the studio to finish a project, and then I will need to spend a bit of time cleaning up. It is a "creative disaster" down there!! After that I want to cut into that fabric and get at least one block made for Emerson's quilt. I need to make 12 different, 12" star blocks, total. After that, since Sweetheart works late tonight, I plan to spend the late afternoon and evening hand quilting. I am sailing along on the UGRR Sampler....pun intended! ;)That is, if Cammy will let me quilt without pouncing on every stitch I make! Eventually, she calms down and just wants to lay....regretfully it is always on my hoop!

This coming Friday night will find me in my studio!! I can not wait! I have spent all week ripping wallpaper, so this will be my prize! In fact, I plan the whole day to be dedicated to sewing/quilting/applique! I have plenty to do!
Saturday morning I am teaching a hand quilting class at our local quilt shop. I have a cap of 6, but I ended up with 7 ladies this time. I always give each of them a little homemade needle book with a basting needle and quilting between tucked inside. I will whip these up on Friday. I bought this gorgeous batik to make them out of. I don't buy batiks, but this will make a beautiful needle book and it looks like Spring to me!I also am in the middle of a big project that I hope to complete that night! I am well on my way!
I have blocks 3 and 4 cut for the Henrietta Whiskers quilt. I need to baste those, and I want to spend part of the afternoon with the UGRR in my lap. It will be a busy day of quilting and sewing! I will add a little planning in the mix too! I won these fat quarters from Debi's giveaway a while back. Since I get a nice discount at the LQS on the day I teach, I thought I would plan out my granddaughter's quilt and make a shopping list of what I need to complete it. Many of these fabrics will go into it. She wants a "Pink Star Quilt", so I will need to add some more contrast to this stack, along with a hot pink sashing and a nice border fabric. I'll grab the backing and batting while I'm at it! I'd like to have it done for her birthday in September. So, if you love quilts and quilting, you might enjoy Glory Bee.....It will not be like Life With A Little Sass, or Pieces From Me. Family will be shared in relation to quilts or quilting....with the exception of sharing some of my daughter, Charlotte's crochet projects. She just started a big one today, so I can post about that soon. I am excited at this new venture. I feel like it is time to close shop at the personal blogs and get back to posting about my passion of hand quilting. Let's face it....I've said about all there is to say more than once!
